Canon Pixma TR4540 Driver Download

Canon Pixma TR4540 Driver Download -The Canon PIXMA TR4540 is designed for light family use and home-based offices. As can be expected for all-in-one at this price, it’s a bit slow and expensive to use, but comes with a powerful feature set and excellent prints, especially photos. Also, like some of the other printers we’ve seen recently, it includes support for Amazon Alexa, allowing for hands-free printing. It is a strong competitor to Home Office users who need an inexpensive AIO for light-duty printing, copying, and scanning.

Entry-based home printers like TR4540 spend most of your idle sitting time until you call them to churn out occasional photos, some document pages here, one or two copies in there – you get an idea. Therefore Canon and its competitors are designing them to take as a small table or real estate counter-Top as possible. For that, TR4540 measures 7.5 by 17.7 by 11.7 inches (HWD) and weighs £13, which aligns with low-cost competitions.

As for the paper handling, TR4540 is equipped with a 1 100-sheet paper tray, and the manual-duplexing automatic Document feeder (ADF) holds up to 20 letter-sized sheets. The siblings, PIXMA TR7520, on the other hand, accommodate up to 200 sheets, divided between the 100-sheet front and the rear tray. HP OfficeJet 3830 (the most inexpensive of this group) holds the same number of sheets as TR4540, but it cannot print two sides of the page automatically. And finally, the EPSON WF-2860 holds up to 150 sheets from one input source.

Canon does not publish monthly duty cycles and recommended monthly print volume specifications for its consumer-grade inkjet printers. Given the print speed rating (which I will discuss below), low paper capacity, and high running costs (also appearing), you should not rely on this AIO for more than a few hundred pages each month; Although it can definitely churn out more now and then you should need to.

Basic connectivity consists of USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi, and drivers for Android, OS, iOS, and Windows 10 mobile APIs are available. Walk-up tasks, configurations, and navigation are handled from a very basic control panel, as shown below.

Features
In addition to the standard AIO printer driver, the TR4540’s software bundle consists of the following convenience and productivity software: Scan Utility for both Windows and MAC platforms, scan Utility Lite for Mac, Easy-PhotoPrint editor, Master Setup, My printer, and Quick Menu for easy access to printer applications and settings.

You can also print, scan, and manipulate images from your Android or iOS device with the Canon Print app and Easy-PhotoPrint editor. Finally, Canon messages in Print APP allows you to embed hidden messages – text, animations, music, video links, and other creative enhancements – directly in the picture. You can then use your mobile device’s camera to see the embedded message on the printed image.

Canon has also begun to include smart home functionality through built-in support for Amazon Alexa, as well as support for Google assistants and other automation services through IFTTT (if this later it is) technology. HP and Epson, too, recently came onboard with IFTTT voice activation-HP with Tango X and Epson with all the machines that support the company’s Epson Connect service.

With IFTTT voice activation, you can tell your machine to print through the app on your smartphone, or through Smart Echo speakers and other IFTTT listening devices. So far, I’ve seen IFTTT’s technology built into three Pixmas, TS9520, TS9521C, and TR4540.

Canon levels TR4540 on 8.8 pages per minute (ppm) for monochrome pages and 5ppm for color pages, which, in addition to the HP 3830 (8.5 ppm), the lowest print speed rating I know. I tested TR4540 via USB from our standard Intel Core i5 equipped PC testbed that runs Windows 10 professional. TR4540 printed our standard 12-page Microsoft Word document test at a rate of 8.5 ppm. It’s slower than any other entry-level printer mentioned here.

Next, I scored a very complex set of color Acrobat, Excel, and PowerPoint business documents consisting mainly of embedded graphics and embedded photos, and then combined the results with them from printing a 12-page text document in the previous test, to come up with a score of 4.5 ppm to print our entire suite. The score was falling behind the TR7520 with 0.2 ppm which can be ignored, and 0.1 ppm faster than Brother MFC-J497DW, 1.9 ppm toward 3830 OfficeJet, and 2.9 ppm slower than WF-2860.

Finally, the TR4540 printed our test 4-by-6-inch snapshot on the average of 58 seconds, which is around the middle-of-The-road (and tied with G4520) to this group’s entry-level AIOs.

Output Worth waiting
Although Canon’s line of printers is not part of the company’s TS consumer-class photo printer series, TR4540 proves once again that when it comes to imaging, Canon is hard to beat. It not only prints TR4540 colorful and vibrant photographs, but also supports borderless prints on the media ranging from 4 by 6 inches to 8.5 by 11 inches. You can also design and print polished and professional flyers and brochures without borders.

Photo output is not the only thing this AIO is not good, though. The text in our test document comes out well-shaped and highly legible, even at a smaller size of up to about 6 points. Our business graphics also look great, with evenly flowing gradients, smooth filling, and a distinct and well-delated hair line (scratches less than 1 thick dot). As always, I have no complaints about this PIXMA output.

High Running Cost
Indeed, most entry-level models cost a lot to use, but at 8.7 cents for monochrome pages and 18.7 cents for color pages, TR4540 is one of the most expensive ones I’ve seen. Brother MFC-J497DW’s operational costs, for example, 2.7 cents less per page monochrome and 2.2 cents lower for color prints, and the Epson WF-2860 is, at 3.2 less cents for black prints and 2.4 cents cheaper for color, a little better.

For real help, when you subscribe to the HP Instant Ink program, the OfficeJet 3830 can provide both black pages and colors, even photos, for as low as 3.5 respectively. They are great savings, but, while 3830 prints are good enough; The quality of the photo output can not touch TR4540.

Home-Printing Escort
The Canon PIXMA TR4540 is a low volume printer, period. Nothing makes a clearer than the high-running cost of the sky, and of course, a small paper-input tray and a slow print speed. What has happened to it, though, is its outstanding print quality, sound automation, the ability to edit photos from your mobile device, and automatic double-sided printing, which is not given in this price range.

If you print less than a few hundred pages each month, the high running costs should not be that large of the deal. If you don’t need excellent photo quality or automatic duplexing you get with TR4540, and want to save a bit on consumables, Brother MFC-J497DW and Epson WF-2860 are good alternatives that won’t hit your wallet as hard in the long run. (If you print thousands of pages per month, you should spend more in front for models like PIXMA G4210 which will end up costing you much less down the road.) If not, TR4540 is a great little printer for light-duty use at home.
